Digital Transformation and Decision Intelligence in Diplomacy
Foreign ministries today operate in an environment defined by information overload, compressed timelines, and growing demands for accountability. Addressing these pressures requires a systematic approach to digitization, data management, computing, and advanced analytics that strengthens how institutions generate insight and support decision making.
This lecture examines how the Department of Foreign Affairs can build digital and computational capacity across policy and operations, including document processing, legal monitoring, performance measurement, and strategic foresight. It presents practical steps for developing data foundations, strengthening institutional processes, and integrating analytics and AI into diplomatic work. The aim is to enhance effectiveness, manage risk, and support sound judgment in an increasingly complex global landscape.
